Hatrock's Unscientific U.S. Presidential Election Prediction 2016

Hillary Clinton:  308
Donald Trump:   230

Hillary will win the popular vote by +4.2% over Trump.

Why 308?  Because that's the number of seats there used to be in the Canadian House of Commons.  And 4.2 is like 42 and I like that number because it's the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

See, I told ya it was unscientific.

But also because 10 years ago, I predicted Hillary Clinton would be the next president after a two-term Barack Obama presidency.  I didn't think she'd beat Obama for the nomination then, so that made me believe she most certainly make another run at it, no matter what.  The Republicans have not had any candidate even close to the campaign machine capability, charisma, charm, and coolness that Obama has brought to the White House.

I have also not wasted much of my time and effort talking about Donald Trump.  But I will say this, one year ago, my grandma passed away.  Months before that I asked her what she thought of the U.S. presidential race.  She said:

"It's a zoo.  A total zoo."

And she was right.

Obama Nation

I'm currently refreshing CNN.com and its results of superdelegates that are chiming in for Barack Obama. In a span of one minute, the number jumped by 13.

It's over. They're all moving toward him. He needs 21 more total delegates to reach 2118 (as of 5:35 EST). Clinton hasn't gained any. Only a handful more superdelegates and this won't go to the convention floor.

The Republicans are already highlighting clips of Hillary and Jimmy Carter saying stuff against Obama. This is probably to ensure she doesn't get on the ticket as veep.

Geez, even some pledged delegates have moved to Obama. And Hillary lost three superdelegates. As of 5:45pm EST, it's now:
Obama: 2102
Clinton: 1914

Obama needs 16 more...
[Edit:] Now 12 more...
[Edit:] Now 10 more...
[Edit:] 7...

"It's Obama"

Former Clinton advisor, Dick Morris, talks about the Indiana and North Carolina primaries today, plus the result of the Clinton camp "secretly" trying to shore up the missing Florida and Michigan votes.

In summary, as I had said weeks ago, even before Pennsylvania, that Obama can't lose.

Morris goes into great detail on the Democratic Party process on what Hillary would have to do to win, and it's ugly.

Canada?

Anything significant happening in Canada on the political scene? Is the "In and Out Scandal" in and out of the public's head? I think so. Is Stephane Dion too chicken to force and election? Yep. The Liberals are broke and aren't raising any money. Will Liberal Deputy Leader Michael Ignatieff and newly elected MP Bob Rae continue to sneak behind the scenes and ensure they're ready when Dion loses the next election... badly? You bet your bollocks.

I've said it many times. The next federal election will be in October 2009, which is when, by law, the Conservative gov't set the date to start fixed election dates from here on in.
